The Wilson is delighted to have the opportunity to present Harold Baim’s archival documentative film ‘The Cotswold Craftsmen’, alongside a contemporary response in our new exhibition held in the Makers Space.
These two films will play in tangent, alongside crafts from the makers and images of their studios, displaying a showcase of the evolution of crafts across seventy years, highlighting the relevance and adaptive nature of handwork over industrial mass production.
This exhibition offers a glimpse into the studios of a handful of contemporary craftspeople working across the Cotswolds today.
Together, these films offer a unique glimpse into the enduring spirit and transformative nature of craftsmanship, highlighting the contrasts and continuities between past and present. An insightful reflection on the changing face of rural crafts in the Cotswolds, it’s a must-see for history lovers and artisans alike.
With thanks to Mary Greenstead for the kind loan of The Cotswold Craftsmen
