She has been teaching art and creative workshops with children and adults of all ages nationally since 2010. She has experience in delivering fine art drawing & painting\, illustration\, printmaking\, animation and life drawing classes. SUMMARY:Mapping Hyperrealities
DESCRIPTION:Join artist-in-residence Harriet Hughes for an experimental\, hands-on workshop exploring how digital media shapes the way we see and create. \nHarriet will guide participants in transforming ephemeral short-form video content into collaborative drawings. Together\, we’ll reimagine the purpose of these fleeting images\, inspired by philosopher Jean Baudrillard’s ideas of hyperreality. \nThis workshop is part of the residents’ exhibition programme\, relating to Harriet’s new series of still lives\, which were observed entirely from online imagery. Harriet Hughes is a multi-disciplinary artist who uses dolls to satirise consumer culture\, questioning how the perception of self is continually exploited in order to produce profit. \nPlease bring your phone with you to the workshop. \nNo booking required just turn up.
