She will take you on a journey through the gallery\, exploring the makers and objects in more detail\, sharing stories that bring the objects to life. \nYou will also have the opportunity to ask questions and find out more about the Arts and Crafts Movement as well as the makers and their relationships and collaborative practice\, behind the objects. \nAbout Sarah\nSarah Middleton is a painter\, art historian and lecturer. She studied Italian and History of Art at UCL and courses at The Courtauld and Slade School of Fine Art. DESCRIPTION:These informal sessions held in The Wilson café lounge area at lunchtime on the first Wednesday of the month give you the chance to join one of our curators for a half hour chat followed by questions as they introduce pieces from The Wilson’s extensive collections. \nWednesday 3rd June \nDrawn to Nature\nNature’s long-lasting influence on artists\, the draw of the Gloucestershire landscape and its natural resources\, will be the focus of this informal talk. Come and see glimpses into the work of artists such as Freda Derrick\, Phyllis Barron and Dorothy Larcher who were directly inspired by the local area and the opportunities it offered for craft and design and creativity. \nTicket price includes a hot drink. \nTickets are also available on the day from the café.
