We offer a range of workshops and experiences aimed at an older audience within our community. These range from curator led talks to art courses, with a rich and varied array of events to choose from throughout the year. Please check back regularly for upcoming workshops. A social group and creative session for older people and those living with dementia. On the first Thursday of every month The Wilson is teaming up with Art Shape to run relaxing creative activities in The Foyle for visitors to Memory Lane Café. Come along for a chat and some creativity with a cuppa. There is no need to book. Refreshments are provided, carers are welcome in this dementia-friendly space.
We offer curator led tours of our permanent and temporary exhibitions at fixed points throughout the year. These offer a unique opportunity to gain insight into our art and social history collections. Please contact the learning team at learning@cheltenhamtrust.org.uk to enquire, or click here to check the current programme of events.
These informal sessions held in The Wilson Kitchen café lounge area at lunchtime on the first Wednesday of the month from 1.30pm to 2pm give you the chance to join one of our curators for a half hour chat as they introduce pieces from The Wilson’s extensive collections.

From pottery and works of art to items that reflect the social history of the Cheltenham area, you’ll get to have a closer look at the objects as they are brought out of the archives.

There will be a different object every month. Book a place for £3, which will include a complimentary tea, coffee or squash from the café. For updates and more details of the objects and subjects for each monthly session, see our Facebook and Instagram. Click here check the current programme of events and book.

We run a range of art classes and courses for adults throughout the year.  Our lessons are tailored for those with little-to-no experience in art but feel the desire to discover and create. At the end of the course, you will have honed your skills and gained confidence in your ability to produce your own artwork. Start your journey as an artist today.
