There were eight Voluntary Aid Detachment hospitals in Cheltenham and it was common for the nurses to have a book for the soldiers to sign. This picture gallery shows some pages from scrapbooks from one of the VAD hospitals located in Cheltenham; New Court.

Photograph of Miss Dorothy Unwin of Arle Court. She was the nurse at New Court Hospital who owned the book. Her father donated wooden structures to the hospitals at New Court and the Racecourse in order to provide space for more beds
